UCSF - JMH Cancer Network
John Muir Health, in partnership with UCSF Health, is combining our respective strengths and resources to reimagine world-class cancer care and transform how patients in our community receive treatment.
A Seamless Cancer Network...Close to Home
In collaboration with UCSF Health, a world-renowned academic medical system, John Muir Health is targeting the current state of fragmented cancer care and establishing a seamless patient experience. Together, we are keeping the focus on what is best for those wo are fighting against cancer — for patients, their families, and for the greater Bay Area community.
We are blending the respective strengths and resources of John Muir Health and UCSF Health as complementary and synergistic, aligned in strategic shared values of exceptional and compassionate patient care.
Our vision of a seamless Cancer Network within the East Bay is anchored in John Muir Health's current construction of a brand new 155,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art comprehensive Cancer Center on the John Muir Health Walnut Creek medical center.
With a scheduled opening date of February 2024, The UCSF-John Muir Health Cancer Center will serve as a central hub for our network of cancer care sites throughout the East Bay, including Berkeley, Brentwood, and Pleasanton.
Diablo Valley Oncology Joins John Muir Health
John Muir Health recently took several significant steps forward in the development of the UCSF-John Muir Health Cancer Network and in the growth of several other medical specialties. As of August of this year, Diablo Valley Oncology (DVO), Pacific Urology, and West Coast Surgical Associates (WCSA) are now part of John Muir Health.
These three provider groups have long-standing and deep commitments to their patients, John Muir Health, and the communities we serve. Our shared goal is to provide high-quality care and an outstanding patient experience.
Their addition amplifies the growth, capabilities and excellence of John Muir Health’s medical oncology, radiation oncology, hematology, urology, and specialized surgical services — DVO's radiation oncologists and hematology oncologists are combining with three additional oncologists to form the John Muir Health Cancer Medical Group. The urologists from Pacific Urology and the surgeons from WCSA will join the John Muir Health Specialty Medical Group.
These groups will be instrumental in the development of the UCSF-John Muir Health Cancer Network and the building of a new, highly-advanced Cancer Center on our Walnut Creek Medical Center campus.
The Cancer Center, currently under construction with an opening date of early 2024, will serve as a central hub for our network of cancer care sites throughout the East Bay including Berkeley, Brentwood, Concord and Pleasant Hill.
Patients visiting the new Cancer Center will experience the most advanced screening, treatment, prevention, survivorship services, and clinical trials available. They will benefit from UCSF Health and John Muir Health's multidisciplinary strengths, expertise and resources, while remaining in their East Bay communities for care, where the support of friends and family can assist in the healing process.
