R. Gordon Baker, Jr. has been providing estate and business planning services to business owners, professionals, and other individual clients since 1985. Gordon has extensive experience in drafting and administering trusts and representing trustees and beneficiaries in trust administration matters.
Gordon is certified as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California, California Board of Legal Specialization. He holds an LLM (Master of Laws and Letters) degree in taxation law. Gordon has been designated a Northern California Super Lawyer® in the area of estate planning and has been named one of the “Top 100 Northern California Attorneys” for estate planning by San Francisco Magazine. He is a frequent speaker on estate planing topics.
Gordon is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Walnut Creek Library Foundation.
Richard M. Del Monte

Richard M. Del Monte is president of Del Monte Group, LLC, serving self-made families in the areas of wealth management and multigenerational planning since 1985. He serves as a faculty member at the Institute for Preparing Heirs, a member of the Purposeful Planning Institute and is a founding member of the Council for Shared Leadership, which established standards of excellence for values-based advisors and the families they serve. Richard is also a published author and featured speaker on local radio talk shows. His newest book is titled “Endless Inheritance: Moving from Feuding to Flourishing in your Affluent Family”.
Richard received his BS in Business Administration from CSU, Chico in 1979. He earned his MBA with an emphasis in Financial Planning from Golden Gate University in 1985. Richard is also serving as Treasurer on the John Muir Health Foundation Board.

Lynn is a Certified Public Accountant with Sweeney Kovar LLP in Danville. Lynn has specialized in tax and financial planning for 30 years.
She received a Bachelor’s Degree and Secondary Teaching Credential from the University of California, Berkeley; an Accounting Certificate from the UC Extension and a Master’s Degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University.
Lynn is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of CPAs (board director, East Bay Chapter) and Estate Planning Council of Diablo Valley (past president).
Ira L. Hillyer, JD
Ira is a non-practicing attorney who uses his extensive experience in trust services, wealth management, and non-profit organizations to assist individuals as they consider their estate planning and wealth management options, including choice of trustee. As a Sr. VP at Mechanics Bank, Ira provided leadership in establishing the bank’s presence as a premier provider of wealth management and banking services in Northern California.
He is past president of four Bay Area Estate Planning Councils, former Co-Chair of Estate Planning and Probate Section of Contra Costa Bar Association, and has served on the Board of Directors for numerous non-profit organizations, including the Northern California Planned Giving Council.
Ira received his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law.
David W. Ogburn
Dave brings nearly 20 years of capital markets, investment management, and business development experience to J.P. Morgan Private Bank, having previously worked in an institutional equity research sales capacity at firms such as Credit Suisse and Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette, where his clients included some of the largest institutional investors in the United States. Most recently, Dave was a Principal and Investment Committee Member at Golub Group Investment Counsel, an investment management firm providing institutional grade investment management to high net worth individuals, registered investment advisors, endowments & foundations, and select institutional investors.
He also sits on Boards of several non-profit organizations, including the Salvation Army of San Francisco and the Northern California Planned Giving Council (NCPGC).
Elizabeth joined Merrill Lynch in 2015 following a long tenure in the corporate media and technology sectors and is a member of team with over 70 years of combined experience. Elizabeth focuses on serving the unique wealth management needs of corporate executives, business owners and professionals. She specializes in executive compensation and corporate benefit strategies in addition to customized wealth planning, philanthropic advising and retirement preparation. Originally from Central Illinois, Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
Richard O. Vandenberg, Jr.
Rick Vandenberg is a managing director and team executive for Atlantic Trust’s San Francisco office, with more than 30 years of investment management experience. His primary responsibilities include leading the client service team and the firm’s business development efforts in the Pacific Northwest. Most recently, he was a managing director and business development officer for Bessemer Trust’s San Francisco office, where his responsibilities included client account management and business development in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. Prior to joining Bessemer in 2007, Rick was a senior vice president and wealth advisor for the Private Client Group at Merrill Lynch and Company. Earlier, he spent more than 16 years with Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he worked with ultra-high net worth individuals and families.
Rick received a Bachelor of Science in finance from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from U.C.L.A.’s Anderson School of Management. Rick currently serves as an active member of the John Muir Health Foundation Board as well as the San Francisco Estate Planning Council.

She is also a member of the East Bay Case Management Association for which she served as President from 2009-2011.
